- This competition is open to all Singapore citizens & Permanent Residents of Singapore except for organisers of the contest.
- The theme of this photo contest is: Capture the Singapore Spirit through your lens.
- Participants are to submit photos of situations/atmosphere &/or decorations &/or people in Singapore exhibiting the Singapore Spirit in conjunction with Singapore’s 46th National Day.
- To qualify for contest, purchase Energizer Lithium AA/AAA batteries between 1 Aug – 11 Sept 2011. Proof of purchase will be required at time of collection of prize.
- Multiple submissions are permitted as long as they are accompanied by different receipts.
- Organisers’ rights as spelt out in the respective segment apply.
A panel of judges will identify the top 20 entries based on originality, creativity & subject relevance.
- Photos must be taken during the period of 16 Jul to 11 Sept 2011.
- Entries must be the sole, original and unpublished work of the participant.
- Digital manipulation that distorts the reality of the photos will not be allowed. Only basic enhancements such as sharpening, contrast adjustment, converting colour images to black & white will be allowed.
- Any submission containing or implying pornographic, slanderous, obscene or vulgar content would be immediately disqualified.
- Entries that have won a prize in any previous international or national photographic competition will be disqualified.
- The judges' decision is final and no correspondence pertaining to the judging and shortlisting process will be entertained.
- All entries must be submitted online at www.energizer.com.sg.
- Receipt number for purchase of Energizer lithium battery is required for submission of entry.
- Each receipt will entitle participant to one (1) submission which allows up to 4 photo entries.
- Please note that entry once submitted cannot be re-opened for more entries.
- Digital image: JPEG format with a minimum resolution of 2000 pixels and a maximum of 3000 pixels on the longer side. Image size: Maximum 2MB per image.
- You may wish to include a short description of the photo(s) in less than 100 words in the comments segment (optional).
- Photographs may be taken with any camera, including a phone camera.
- Participants will receive an email notification upon successful submission.
- Website will open for submission from 1 Aug to 11 Sept 2011, 12 midnight.
- All qualifying entries submitted will be available online for public viewing.
- Submission of entries signifies acceptance of the organisers' rights.
Will commence 19 Sep and close 30 Sept 2011 midnight.

- Top 20 entries will be awarded a 2D1N exclusive photography workshop cum competition, worth $1200 each, at Outward Bound Singapore (Pulau Ubin). This prize is not transferable; hence a participant with more than one winning entry can enjoy this prize only once.
- Winners of the 5 special awards (voting by public) will receive $100 worth of prizes each.
- The overall winner of the workshop cum competition will receive $2000 in cash and products.
- Should winner be unable to attend Workshop cum competition place vacated will be awarded to other participants of the contest according to ranking.
3 lucky voters will win a hamper worth $100 each.
- The Organisers, Energizer Singapore Pte Ltd (Energizer) & The Photographic Society of Singapore (PSS)
- Reserve exhibition rights and publication rights to the winning and selected entries in print, broadcast and electronic media without requiring permission from the participant and without any fee payable for 3 years. However, the Organisers will acknowledge the participants and award a certificate as token of appreciation if their entries are used. If the participants’ works are selected to be used in a coffee table book, he/she will be given a copy of the book as a token of appreciation.
- Have the right to send the selected works on a touring exhibition within Singapore and overseas.
- Have the right to use the participants' names for promotional purposes without compensation to the participant.
- Have the right to disqualify any entry submitted which is non-compliant to the rules and regulations, or copyright infringements; and
- Will not be liable for any copyright infringement on the part of the participants;
- Reserve the right to modify the competition prizes and its rules and regulations as and when necessary, without prior notice.
- The submission of entries signifies acceptance of the above rules and regulations. Non-compliance may result in disqualification.
- Participants must own the sole copyright of entries. The Organisers and Sponsors/Partners reserve the right to disqualify any prize winners who do not own the copyrights to their entries and to recover the prizes that have been awarded to them.
- The Organisers shall have the right to exhibit, edit the entry's title and use the winning entries for publicity and marketing purposes before, during and after the competition. The winning images shall remain as the property of the Organisers and Sponsors, who reserve the right to use them in any manner deemed fit, without payment of any fee.
- Each participant who wins a prize warrants that he/she is the owner of the photograph (and all the intellectual property and other proprietary rights in the photograph submitted). The Entrant shall indemnify the Organisers against all intellectual property infringement and other proprietary claims including any costs, charges and expenses in respect thereof.
- The copyright in the winning and selected entries shall pass to the organizers upon the submission of the entries.
- The Organisers reserve the right to reproduce any entry in print, broadcast and/or electronic media without requiring the permission of the participant and without any fee payment. However, the photographer will be acknowledged.
