Flashlights Care

Caring For Your Flashlight
Store your flashlight in a dry, cool location that's convenient and easy to reach in an emergency or power outage.
Avoid storing your flashlight in high temperatures. This could accelerate defects in your flashlight, including possible battery leakage.
An ideal storage place in your house is in a cabinet or drawer. But remember, it's a good idea to keep a flashlight near your bed in case of home emergencies.
The best place to store a flashlight in your car is the glove compartment. Avoid leaving flashlights on or under the seat, or in direct sunlight.
If you don't use your flashlight frequently, check it periodically to make sure it's still functioning.
If your flashlight or lantern isn't used for months at a time, replace the batteries every few months—this insures that your flashlight has fresh, working batteries and prevents battery leakage.
Always keep a fresh package of Energizer® batteries next to your flashlight. Families often find that batteries haven't been replaced frequently or that children have removed the batteries to use in games. Keeping an unopened package of batteries where you store your flashlight gives you peace of mind that you'll never be left in the dark.
